This is the third time I’ve produced a studio shoot for ServiceMaster Fire/Water Damage, but now Alexander Zoltai will be the photographer & director! Immediately I started to reassemble the dream team for design, set building, and special effects painting: Rob Walstead (art/design), Brian Simpson (build), and Ron Albert (sfx). These fellas would have the heaviest lifting on the project, and a huge part of the budget of course. We rented the big studio at ACME Stages which have always been such great hosts for us, and they have a ton of equipment on site for rentals – you can’t go wrong! We had plans for a burned living room and office, plus a flooded basement set. We shot each set for one day, then turned to the next set. While they sfx team was putting finishing touches on all this, we squeeze in a location day for some SNOWY exteriors, and holy cow did it snow for us!! You can’t pay for snow this good. The end of that location shoot day was a little challenging to get the vehicles free from their parked positions, loaded, and back on the road safely, but we pulled it off nicely.
