Lands’ End clothing and home decor retailer is based in Wisconsin (yeah midwest!) and needed some new images by Jonathan Chapman. They chose Austin TX for the setting in order to get some nice greenery during winter time – after all it’s November and already snowing up north. This project was all about their Business line of clothing and we shot for 3 long days in some really beautiful offices.
The majority of this project went super smoothly, but we did end up with one really tough location owner. It was a combination of a misunderstanding about how large our team was and the distraction we’d cause in this rental office, and the two of our crew members moved a couple of tv monitors on location without asking (which caused a huge blow up by the owner). I had to do my very best to smooth the situation and simply absorb this fella yelling at me for something that was obviously simple to move back into place plus the miscommunication about team size/impact. It was memorable to say the least, and worth writing about to re-live the situation.
