Alright, now that we’ve got one cruise under our belts, we’re ready for a longer voyage into the Caribbean! These shoots were scheduled nearly back to back with a brief break in between. Mark Katzman and team set out again for Princess Cruises to make some more images, this time a bit more family centric. Most of the logistics were much easier now that we knew the general layout of the cruise ship, and how to get what we needed, or of whom to ask our many requests. The biggest challenge on this trip was how we began the voyage one day late, due to excessive dangerous fog that prevented the previous 2,000 passengers from disembarking; the large ship couldn’t navigate the canal in this low visibility. The challenge for us was that new we had one less day to accomplish the shots, and I had to juggle my carefully designed schedule of shots, daily. Heads came up with a really good flow, and we did 5 days of shooting in just 4 days.
This cruise was slightly abbreviated, and we missed visiting Grand Cayman island. Instead, we got to stop briefly in Belize! There were even some opportunities to disembark and see Cozumel Mexico for a while. The shots we got on the less visited beach areas of Cozumel were very pretty. We had a brief rain shower followed by perfect sun. We were very much “winging it” and found a fabulous restaurant & bar to host our wacky photo team and models, with arguably the best guac + chips on the island. Yum!
